Neighbors in Need

Once a month, Muslim Social Services Agency goes to the location where the homeless in Baltimore gather.  We provide them with a healthy lunch that includes a sandwich, drink, fruit and a snack.  100-150 men, women and children are served each time.  We also distribute hygiene items.  Many of the clients return each month to receive our services.

Serving our Seniors

Muslim Social Services Agency began to help several senior citizens apartment complexes after the events in Baltimore left them without access to medicine, food, hygiene items and household supplies.  Muslim Social Services Agency was joined by ICNA Relief, Islamic Relief and the Zakat Foundation to provide the senior citizens with the necessities of life.  These supplies will be delivered on a monthly basis to three senior citizens apartment complexes in inner-city Baltimore.

Day of Dignity

Each fall, Day of Dignity is held in Baltimore.  We provide a hot meal, non-perishable food, hygiene items, blankets and school supplies.  Health screenings are conducted for blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, STDs, HIV and prostate cancer.  Referrals are made for education, employment, housing and drug rehabilitation.  These services are provided free of charge to inner-city residents

Refugee Support Services (RSS)

This program provides support to recently resettled refugees in the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan area. This program is coordinated by a full-time case manager. RSS provides the following social services support:

  • Housing assistance

  • Job Development

  • ESL (English as a second language) classes

  • Transportation assistance

Healthy Food Distribution

Muslim Social Services Agency, in conjunction with the Mid-Atlantic Gleaning Network, provides several tons of fresh fruit and vegetables to the inner-city community.  Often the markets that do exist do not have enough fresh food and vegetables at a reasonable cost. This program encourages healthy eating, which will contribute to fewer health related issues.

Muslim Social Services Agency Awards Banquet

Each year, Muslim Social Services Agency hosts our awards banquet to recognize individuals and organizations that have been of assistance to our organization and the community at large. This gives the attendees a chance to witness the positive work that is being done in our community to help those in need of assistance. The banquet encourages everyone to donate to our programs and events.

Our 6th annual fundraiser will be at the October 26 2019
